I had been on a couple day vacation visiting the California coast following a Spartan Race I did out there! I was looking to rewind and get back in touch with nature so from Lake Tahoe I decided to drive down to Yosemite National Park. I had always wanted to go there but was too unhealthy to make the trip in the past. Now since someone had came into my life, I found the strength and the fire to do things I once only dreamed of doing.
As I entered the park early in the morning, it was fogging. The perfect morning shot of the sun rising over Half Dome was not going to be what I wanted it to be, but I still kept my hopes up and convinced myself that it was going to be a beautiful and rewarding day! As if on command, the fog started to roll away and I was awe struck by the majestic rock formations that Yosemite Valley gives you!
I started hiking and as I turned a corner on the hiking trail I was walking on, I noticed a family of deer! This blew me away. Sure I was in awe at the power of God’s creation in the rock formations but this was just incredible! All of my life living in Wisconsin deer always ran away, but today was different. Today was special. I sat down and started observing this family of deer, and I could not have been more than 10 feet away from them!
Time passed and I became lost in the moment and in thinking about the woman who means so much to me and how she would have loved being here to witness this miracle! I felt like I became part of this family. They stayed there eating and playing for quite a while and never seemed scared that I was around! It was truly an amazing experience, and one I will never forget! When you get back to nature amazing things can happen!
